Charkie’s Snowshoe GNCC Race Report

Written by: Charkie Huegel | 29 June 2010

The Snowshoe GNCC was an incredible race!  The festival like atmosphere really makes this a fun race.  The terrain and landscape are amazing and also scary.  The general consensus in the pits, was that we are going to accept this as the NEW Blackwater.  (for those relatively new to offroad, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grand_National_Cross_Country#Blackwater_100_and_GNCC_History)

2010 Perry Mountain 24 Hour Enduro Race Report

Written by: Austin Bankert | 08 June 2010

My first word of advice is this: Do NOT go to this race under any circumstances. You WILL be hooked!! Do we really have to wait 365 more days to do this again??? It just doesn’t seem fair…

Our first 24 hour race started with an overloaded Toyota Tacoma that truly looked straight out of a modern day “Beverly Hillbillies” movie.

John Penton GNCC Amateur Report

Written by: Charkie Huegel | 07 June 2010

Large amounts of water poured over southern Ohio just minutes prior to when the morning amateur race was slated to begin.  So much rain in fact, that multiple parts of the course were under water.  The decision was made to delay the start of the 10am race until 11:30 and shorten the time to a 1 hour bout.  The Pro/A/B race that normally starts at 1pm and races for 3 hours, would be toned down to a 2 hour race starting at 1:30pm.

Charkie Huegel’s Somerset GNCC Amateur Bike Report

Written by: Charkie Huegel | 28 May 2010

The cloudy skies and damp soil were clues that the race course was going to be tough. The Eight O’clock youth race was indeed a tough one. Some riders described it almost as more of a survival event than a standard race. The top part of the course was decent and fast, but in the forests, the riders bikes were nearly eaten alive by the jagged rocks and gooey mud.

Charkie Huegel’s Yadkinville Race Report

Written by: Charkie Huegel | 11 May 2010

The Stomp Amateurs keep racing tight midway through GNCC season.

A great race course awaited the riders on Sunday May 9th in Yadkinville, NC. Although there was some dusty sections that clouded visibility, the majority of the track was perfect. In addition to the usual rough double track that we are familier with at GNCCs, racers also battled through some tight sections trying not to hit their handlebars on the thickness of trees to either side. The Stomp’s layout also featured some steep hills, a whooped out sand section, and even a creek jump to air it out. Thanks to a varied track, we were able to see which riders have the most diverse riding skills.

2010 GNCC Opening Rounds Review

Written by: Jared Bolton | 10 March 2010

So the 2010 GNCC series is officially in full swing. Now that everyone has survived the first two round, it’s finally time to sit back and have more than a few days between races. With the season underway, just 2 rounds in and things are already pretty interesting.

Throughout the weeks leading up to Round 1, it looked as if Charlie Mullins was going to be the guy to beat. With several wins at SETRA races and a win at the National Enduro opener, he showed that just because he has no real factory support this year, doesn’t mean he can’t win.
